Batman: Arkham Knight is coming, and it’s arriving in style. The fourth (and final installment by developer Rocksteady Studios) of the very celebrated Arkham series (which includes amazing games Arkham Asylum, Arkham City and Arkham Origins) is kicking up the fighting, intensity, vehicular combat and general all-around badass-ness of our favorite caped crusader.

This go-around, Batman’s got his old chums along for the ride: Robin and Nightwing. Nightwing is Robin when he got too old and moody to wear bright red tights, kind of like a puberty Robin. When he left the costume behind, another Robin picked it up. So now we’re seeing a team of three complement each others’ skillsets, kick ass and take names.

Rocksteady told reporters that this incarnation of Arkham promises “Dual Play,” which will let players switch back and forth freely between these three Batman-related bros, even in the middle of combat!

How does that look?

Pretty epic – like in this shot from the trailer when Batman uses Robin’s stick to flip him on top of a bad guy

Also in the trailer – Batman’s former fling Catwoman. Will she stumble on Batman’s texts with his Tinder matches? Will things get awkward?

Also in the trailer - Batman

That looks like a hard no, as Batman punches some sort of acid robot towards Catwoman so she can do a flipkick. She is yet another controllable character in the game.

The Batmobile is also out in full force, and this will be the first game where you’ll be able to drive it!

All these aspects come together because Batman needs all the help he can get.

A new villain has been created specifically for the game: the Arkham Knight. He’ll be putting together a legitimate army, as seen above, to fully take down Batman and his friends. Rocksteady said they wanted someone that “could go head to head with Batman in a lot of different ways.” We assume that means other than a rousing chess partner.

Punching, driving, shooting, Catwoman-ing?! This game is shaping up to be amazing. Check out the full trailer below, and get pumped for Arkham Knight – releasing June 23rd!
